Barton House is a high support move-on hostel providing long term accommodation for up to fourteen residents including those with mental illness, drug and alcohol related issues, those who are homeless and others who have been in prison or are on probation.
The staff teach the residents life skills covering areas such as budgeting, self-care and relationship building, with a view to helping them live more independently. The staff also help to facilitate the residents getting involved in community groups, for instance attending the local community art classes and computer courses.
“I have realised what life is. It is more than drinking and being on the streets. I have my confidence back.”— Barton House Resident
