Volunteers and supporters play a large and vital part in the work that we do as a Project. If you have a heart for the poor and disadvantaged and maybe have an evening spare to help in a number of ways, then perhaps volunteering with us or supporting us would be right up your street!
There are a number of ways that volunteers can help support the work we do and serve the amazing people we come into contact with:
Prayer - You can pray for us as a Project, or a particular area of the Project or some of our residents (names and personal details will, of course, be changed to maintain confidentiality). We can provide you with some specifics to guide you in what to pray for and keep you updated with progress. You might want to commit to praying for a week, month or 3 monthly basis. If you would like to commit to praying for us in this way and would like updates, please click here and complete the online form.
Donations - You might have items of clothing, bedding, towels, food or household items that you no longer need, that could be donated for use in one of the houses or for clients who may have just moved into their own accommodation.
If you have items to donate please call:
- The Nightshelter on 01234 266085
- Barton House hostel on 01234 345756
(Please note that we do not have any storage available for large items)
Time to Spare? - You might like to spend an evening or afternoon volunteering your time in one of our Houses; or
Assisting with one of our Meaningful Activities (MAC) daytime courses / sessions facilitating a variety of different activities e.g. bicycle maintenance, bake it - eat it, football, I.T. courses, healthy living, etc.; or
Street Outreach meal – Friday Night Meeting (FNM). This would involve helping with food preparation and serving meals for the residents and spending time with the residents, getting to know them and valuing them. This could be on an ad-hoc basis, or a regular day or evening.
If you are interested in volunteering in this way, please click here and complete the online form. Once we receive the form, we will take up references then contact you. (Please note that due to working with vulnerable adults we do require a reference and CRB check for all volunteers)
Support Us - For information on how to support us financially please click here
We look forward to hearing from you!
