Hub & Spoke

The Hub

provides short-term accommodation for up to 4 months. Each service user has a single room in a house with 5 rooms, which offers a family-feel, balancing autonomy and community. Personalised support is provided and can continue for 4 months after moving into independent accommodation.

The Spoke (Floating Support Service)

is available to those who are able to, or already, live in independent accommodation within the community.

The service provides support in:

  • Sustaining independent accommodation
  • Maximising and maintaining income
  • Accessing specialist support and mainstream services
  • Accessing meaningful daytime activities
  • Personal safety and security

The Eligibility Criteria is:

  • Single male or female, aged 18 or over with a Local Connection to Bedford (check referral form below for Local Connection definition)
  • Homeless or at risk of imminent homelessness (priority given to first time homeless)
  • Vulnerable and require short-term, housing related support
  • Low support needs and low risk
  • Have sufficient independent living and life skills
  • Need some support to further increase independence, develop additional life skills and to access services
