Creche Nursery Assistant – Bank Worker

Hours: Creche operates Mon & Wed (9.30am – 2.30pm) term time only.

Terms: Zero hours contract

Salary: £10.42 per hour plus holiday pay

Location: Shefford, Bedfordshire

Our ESOL service was established in 2017 and now runs 5 days per week and offers English lessons for resettled refugees and an English Club with an emphasis on learning skills for integration into UK society. We are a growing team of ESOL tutors and creche teams providing training to help refugees and their families to resettle in Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire.

The Creche Nursery Assistant is a childcare professional involved in the day-to-day running of the Crèche for English Learners. You perform an important role caring or children, maintaining a high quality, stimulating learning environment.

ESOL Tutor

Hours: 15 hours per week (term time only)

Terms: Permanent

Salary: £12.31 per hour plus holiday pay

About The Role

As an ESOL Tutor, you will be responsible for teaching English to adult refugees in a classroom setting.

You will deliver high quality, formal scheduled ESOL teaching, including planning, delivery, assessment and review, alongside curriculum development.

You will also be expected to hold a minimum TEFL/TESOL qualification or be willing to work towards it.  You will have, or will develop, working knowledge of supporting and coaching adults learners through learning programmes.

Classes take place Mon and Wed (9.30am-2.30pm). Staff meetings will take place outside these hours.

ESOL Crèche Deputy

Hours: 14 hours a week, term time only

Terms: Permanent

Salary: £11.39 per hour plus holiday pay

About the Role

The ESOL Creche Deputy is a qualified childcare professional able to deputise and support the ESOL Creche Team Leader. You perform a key role caring for children, maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning environment and imparting your knowledge and skills to others. You are a creative and reflective leader able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practice. You will also be expected to hold a minimum NNEB/NVQ Level 2 in Children’s Care Learning & Development, or equivalent qualification and will have experience of working with pre-school age children. Clean driving license and access to a car are essential for this role.

Pathways Learning & Engagement Co-ordinator

Hours:  40 hours per week (part time applications considered)

Terms: Permanent

Salary:  £24,512 per annum

Holiday: 25 days per annum + bank holidays

Location: Bedford Town Centre

Summary of the Role

The Pathways Team serves to empower clients to make the journey from homelessness to belonging in community (this could include employment or other meaningful activities). The Learning & Engagement Coordinator role develops and facilitates accessible activities and skills learning, provides one-to-one support to build trust and encourage progression, and is actively involved in enabling clients to keep moving forward toward engaging with mainstream community, education, volunteering, and employment (according to abilities and needs).

As a member of this growing team, and with relevant supervision, the post holder will support the Pathways Team to provide a service that is co-produced and developed with members of the Pathways Community and reflects the needs and interests of attendees. You will be passionate about ensuring that the Pathways Community remains dynamic, client-led, and solution-focused.

ESOL Team Manager

Hours: 40 hours per week

Terms: Permanent

Salary range : £28,000 – £30,000 per annum

Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and develop our growing ESOL provision for Refugee families in Bedford and Central Bedfordshire. With an established team made up of an ESOL Coordinator, ESOL teachers and creche staff, you will oversee and develop the delivery of high quality ESOL teaching and creche provision. The role will including planning delivery, assessment and review of teaching, overseeing crèche provision and overseeing the planning and delivery of children’s holiday clubs.

You will be the main point of contact for contracts, liaising with contract managers and ensuring achievement of performance outcomes and measures. King’s Arms Project respects individuals of all faiths and none. As a leadership role within Kings Arms Project, this post carries a genuine occupational requirement (GOR) that the post-holder be a practicing Christian.

Refugee and Migrant Services Caseworkers (x2)

Terms: Fixed Term (One Year)

About The Role

The Refugee & Migrant Services Caseworker will join the Refugee & Migrant Services Support Team, who work alongside our ESOL team and volunteers to meet clients’ needs as directed by the R&MS Team Leader.  The post is based at our offices in Bedford but will involve some local travel to deliver support and home appointments.  Our team delivers a number of services, including:

  • Welcoming and providing holistic integration support to resettled refugee families, empowering them to live independently with less support as time goes on.
  • Providing vulnerable migrants with high quality information and advice, empowering them to make well-informed choices.
  • Providing supported accommodation for people who have been refused asylum.

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, hard-working and able to provide holistic support to a diverse caseload of people. You will be part of an experienced, compassionate, and highly motivated team with a strong knowledge of the issues facing refugees, those seeking asylum and vulnerable migrants.
